The Flower in the Sky

The Iris Nebula (also known as NGC 7023) is a bright reflection nebula in the constellation Cepheus. The nebula, which shines at magnitude +6.8, is illuminated by a magnitude +7.4 star designated HD 200775 in its center. The Iris Nebula lies 1,300 light-years from earth and is six light-years across.

This is my second attempt at shooting this deep sky object. My first attempt only used about 534 10-second exposures captured in one evening. This time, I captured over 2080 10-second exposures over 5 evenings. After comparing the two images, I probably need twice as many exposures to get good definition of this target.

I used the ZWO Seestar S50 telescope, stacked and processed in Siril, used Photoshop to de-blur, and Topaz to de-Noise.
